NCCSS Conference Dates - April 24-25
The NCCSS Executive Board and Directors are pleased to share that the 2025 NCCSS Conference, which was postponed due to the Governor’s State of Emergency with the incoming winter storm, has now been rescheduled for April 24-25. The conference will take place at the Koury Convention Center in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Using Takei's graphic novel "They Called us Enemy" together with a curated primary source set, the audience will engage an interdisciplinary study of Japanese American incarceration in the United States during WWII. Presenters will model historically responsive question writing, source analysis, and interdisciplinary instructional design for social studies and ELA teachers in grades 4-10. Participants will receive digital access to the source set and teacher supplementary materials. Presenters will also overview modifications for use in grades 4-7 and in grades 8-10.
