During this session, participants will engage in different activities that allow them to experience the process of creating an environment for civil dialogue. These activities will also translate directly to their classrooms as meaningful practices for students, as well. Educators will build connections between their own personal goals for civil dialogue and its practical aspects in the classroom. Starting with these goals will build a foundation for each participants' individualized civil dialogue practice. They will then discuss what they bring into a civil dialogue space by reflecting on their personal behaviors and reactions to different conversation settings. Finally, they will learn about the resources provided by the National Constitution Center to support norm development and creation.
