NCCSS Conference Dates - April 24-25
The NCCSS Executive Board and Directors are pleased to share that the 2025 NCCSS Conference, which was postponed due to the Governor’s State of Emergency with the incoming winter storm, has now been rescheduled for April 24-25. The conference will take place at the Koury Convention Center in Greensboro, North Carolina.

This interactive session demonstrates how storytelling and podcasting can transform social studies classrooms into spaces for cultural exploration, critical thinking, and student agency. Participants will engage in a storying activity using personal artifacts to explore values, culture, and identity, fostering empathy and appreciation of lived experiences. Real-world stories of immigrant students and teachers will highlight the power of narratives in social studies education. Modeling GenAI podcasting as a collaborative tool to synthesize stories, participants will learn strategies for fostering community and shared identity. Attendees will leave with practical strategies and resources to integrate storytelling and podcasting into their K-12 social studies classrooms.
