For 19 years, North Carolinians have enjoyed playing lottery games offered by the N.C. Education Lottery. The state lottery now raises more than $1 billion a year for the good cause it serves – public education. Education Lottery dollars support education programs in all 100 counties of our state. The money helps counties build and repair schools, supports the NC Pre-K program for at-risk four-year-olds, helps all public schools and charter schools with the expense of school support staff and transportation, and helps to fund the Next NC Scholarship, awarded based on financial need to students attending state universities and community colleges. Throughout its operations, the N.C. Education Lottery remains dedicated to operating and marketing its games and promotions responsibly. It has maintained the highest certification in the world for responsible gaming since 2017.
