About me
David Harris is a middle school history teacher at Providence Day School in Charlotte, NC, and a founder of Charlotte People of Color (CPOC), an organization supporting people of color in private independent schools. A Chicago native, he holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Illinois, an M.A. in International Relations from Syracuse University, and completed postgraduate work in education at DePaul University. He has taught in Chicago Public Schools, charter schools, and private independent schools, including The University of Chicago Laboratory Schools, and also served as Director of Auxiliary Services at Francis W. Parker School in Chicago. David has been active in various education boards and committees, received grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Gilder Lehrman Institute, and currently hosts The Teacher’s Forum podcast, amplifying the voices of K-12 educators.
