About me
I am passionate about increasing access to art experiences and transforming museums into more open and inclusive communities. I left the classroom in 2010 to work at the North Carolina Museum of Art finding new opportunities to serve as a teacher leader and artist educator. My work at the NCMA has built upon my master’s thesis research ‘Interactive Technology: A Tool for Student-Centered Instruction in Middle School Art Education.’ I believe technology has great potential to deepen learning and increase access to the arts and museums. I’ve been a member of ISTE off and on since the 1990s and love the work happening at NCTIES! Denise and I are doing a digital playground on Thursday at 1:30pm in the vendor hall and presenting ‘Exploring Ancient Cultures’ on Friday 3/7/25 at 10:30am.
