About me
The Woodson Center is a neighborhood empowerment organization founded by civil rights movement veteran Robert Woodson Sr, more than 40 years ago to empower low-income neighborhoods to be agents of their own uplift.
To help children across America to see how they can have agency over their lives, we began producing school lessons of little known yet inspiring stories from black history, stories of people defeating oppression through excellence and achievement. These lessons are free and publicly available for all.
